  1. I still signed the petition based on what DJWS said about challenging corporate power (even if the effort proves to be futile), but I agree it would have to be on her own terms. I would hate for Gaga to be forced into it and experience a fibromyalgia flare-up from re-living past traumas
  2. Visuals giving me chills! A little slow-going but I agree with some that the vibe and song fit the message at the end. at least this starts a new era in product sponsorship
  3. Love Kacey! I can see a Rainbow-style collab on 1000 Doves!
  4. Charli XCX for me! Her best works are collabs so I'm sure she would be able to write lyrics and find a voice and style that compliments Gaga's. If its any album, Chromatica would be it. I would love for an extended version of Alice! Runners-up: Doja and Rina
  5. Thanks, I might have to try this since I prefer mineral sunscreens whenever possible but I haven't found one that I am completely in love with. I think the best success I've had is with Sun Bum's Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen
  6. I'll be looking for tips on this one although I have rosacea so I need to be careful. I use a special dermatologist-prescribed face wash and make sure to always finish with cold water to close the pores Anyone have a sunscreen that they particularly like?
  7. You have a point - I highly doubt the Atlanta Braves will move out of Georgia and if the team makes the playoffs then the games will likely happen in Georgia which does sound conflicting. Same with any other company that does business in or with the state. I don't really have a good explanation or argument but the way I see it is that corporations are more likely to challenge any new legislation or action that does not adhere to its/society's social values. The All-Star Game and Draft are more like ad-hoc, one-time events that rotate from city to city and were the easiest things in the eyes of the MLB to move to be in solidarity soon after the bill was passed. Timing is key here imo and we will soon see if more "dominoes" fall to put immediate pressure on the Georgia legislature to reverse the decision. However I join in your skepticism about whether these actions by corporations will make a difference at the moment. I agree that not until corporations make long-term commitments will we start to see real change. Still the MLB's decision would not have happened if this were a few years ago, so the optimist in me at least sees this as an improvement in terms of not letting racist acts slide by the way side. Change can be slow, but it starts with general public awareness and recognition and the more allies and people/organizations speaking up, the better, even if efforts prove to be futile. Ahh sorry for the essay. If you still disagree, feel free to let me know. I value others' opinions.
  8. I thought about this too how the decision would likely not change anything in Georgia but it is getting a lot of scrutiny and press and the Georgia governor seems to be taking a very defensive position, citing "cancel culture" among other things. And of course there is the short-term, but negative impact on the local Atlanta economy from not having a boost in revenues during the All-Star Game and draft. Since I follow the pro sports world, I see this as a big step forward though with the league listening to the wants of its players and making this decision which surely had risks for the MLB too (although I am also curious about the financials and perhaps the MLB didn't see this as too risky given they can relocate the game and draft elsewhere so they'll still profit). If anything, I hope the increase in corporate pressure on ESG issues makes politicians and other government officials think twice on things like this
  9. Glad to see the sports world protesting against the election rule changes in Georgia:
  10. I'm going to be basic and go with the first hit as my favorite song for now until the newer ones have time to grow on me I do think Rodeo is underrated though and I like the unique interpretation for the video. Panini was a close second in that category
  11. Nicola really knows how to play with this fan base
  12. That would make sense since the digital tokens are “authenticated” by computer networks based on my understanding Besides music and art, the sports world has also latched onto the concept. Digital NBA highlight clips can go for thousands
  13. First time posting here since I’m not too big into stocks but as a new business student I’ll learning about non-traditional assets like NFTs and and wondering if anyone feels strongly for/against them? Seems like a bubble waiting to burst imo
  14. Republicans always pull the "trickle-down" card which sounds great in theory, but it is a myth, and just like this 2017 tax cut, inequality also worsened during the Reagan and Bush era tax cuts. Many still falsely credit the Reagan tax cuts as the sole reason for ending the 1980 recession, but it was just one strategy, Reagan also increased government spending among other things. Fiscal stimulus is the more appropriate way to fight recession and unemployment Here is a good source that explains further: https://www.thebalance.com/trickle-down-economics-theory-effect-does-it-work-3305572
  15. Not surprised tbh. All Nike cares about is profit. They did Colin Kaepernick dirty, refused to give their sponsored women athletes maternity protections, and now this Too many recent strikes against them to my liking
  16. Welcome from one chai latte lover to another! And starting off your intro with a poll You’ll fit right in. My fave is Born This Way but TFM is a close second
  17. As I have said I have mixed feelings for Demi but I can't deny that Cool for the Summer is a bop and it's a staple on my summer playlist. Runners up to Cruel Summer and Summertime Saddness
  18. Oh I was just alluding to the resemblance to your pfp and the fact that the character was a music producer. Didn't you say your pfp was one?
  19. Watched The High Note last night and think this crowd would enjoy it, plus I swear @blankpaper starred in it
  20. Thanks! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out on the decarbonization piece of the infrastructure plan. The future is electrification but we need more investment in charging stations and incentives for electric vehicles both on the consumer and manufacturer end. Some states offer good rebates and tax credits and car manufacturers are starting to invest in electric fleets, but we lost a lot of ground during the Trump administration after the fuel efficiency progress under Obama
  21. Really? Brown Eyes is truly underrated. Solid ballad for a debut album. I hope it gets some respect
