As much as some people are gonna say it doesnt matter bc shes an album artist, Cardigan is serving SL numbers. It had a much stronger debut in the US, that's right but then it had much more room to freefall for that reason. Certain fanbases loved to use this excuse for songs and albums that were obviously promoted to be hits. I lowkey thing some people on stan twitter actively want a song to get no promo so they can use this excuse. As you said, there much more effective promo tactics than tv performances in 2020.

Actually, I have an excuse (except for Taylor) I did many more "matches" between songs than the ones I ended up using, and one of the them had my future. As for Ariana, there was a lot of work to do this, so to make sure I had everything ready by early december, I had to do it a long time ago. By the time positions came out I was already starting to prepare the video (this is the same reason why there's some late 2019 songs). Very happy to see you liked it
