Just days before the biggest sporting event in the world kicks off, Gaga was seen arriving in the French capital. The award-winning singer, who famously sang Edith Piaf’s La Vie en Rose in “A Star in Born,” and performed the song during her Las Vegas residency Jazz and Piano, is rumored to be rehearsing her performance for the Opening Ceremony. R&B star Aya Nakamura and Celine Dion are also rumored to be performing. For the first time in history, the Opening Ceremony is set to take place outside of a stadium and will be held along the Seine River that runs through the city. The nautical show will be following 85 boats carrying athletes from each Olympic delegation on a four-mile parade. Kicking off from the Pont d’Austerlitz and culminating at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the ceremony will showcase the city’s historical landmarks and will bring together 3,500 actors, dancers and musical performers.

I had so much fun tracking all her HoG wins and nominations. I’ll never forget her getting nominated for the BAFTA and getting the NYFCC win. the Oscar snub hurt but I wouldn’t take back those moments for nothing, gotta enjoy everything you get while you can

I love Ariana but I HIGHLY doubt Wicked is doing ANYTHING above the line in terms of the Oscars….and Selena could; Emilia Perez had good reception at Cannes, she was part of the group of ladies who won “Best Actress” @ Cannes and she seems to having a good year with her Emmy nomination… what will hurt her from what I’ve heard is that Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofia Gascon have way more impactful roles and I think those will easily be the ladies that get nominated throughout the season. I do think she wrote a song for Emilia Perez so maybe Selena could nab a nomination there?

A lot of it does come down to how the ACTOR wants to be portrayed. Lily Gladstone could’ve easily been supporting last year and would’ve most likely WON in that category but she wanted to be seen as a leading lady. and something tells me that even if the role is “supporting Joaquin” Gaga will specifically want Harley to be seen as a leading role in her own right and will therefore want to be submitted as LEAD. I think it’s all clickbait gossip from Clayton but you never know…the last two years (Michelle Williams for “The Fablemens” & Lily Gladstone for “Killers of the Flower Moon”) have had controversial submissions and we found out about those in September. We’ll know when it debuts at Venice if she’s gonna go lead or supporting is my guess

Anticipation is high for Todd Phillips’ jukebox sequel “Joker: Folie à Deux,” with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Oscar-winning role. Lady Gaga, who won an Oscar for best original song (“Shallow” from “A Star is Born”), is playing the sultry villain Harley Quinn. While many assumed she would compete for lead actress, sources indicate she might pursue a supporting actress nomination, as the story is reportedly told from Arthur Fleck’s perspective. Gaga could be in a strong position if her screen time justifies it and the film meets expectations. Clayton Davis is reporting Gaga might go Best Supporting Actress this year……
