  2. omg the map of Chromatica is f-ing perfect yall she really created a whole damn world for this album and covid had to DESTROY it…smdh
  3. In line at my local record store to HOPEFULLY pick up a copy of Chromatica! Wish me luck yall!!!! Edit: OMG I GOT A COPY
  4. OMG I KNOW WHAT I FORGOT…..Trump’s DOJ… NYT Reports….Prosecutors subpoenaed Apple for data from the accounts of at least two Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, aides and family members. The leak hunt began with the FBI sending a subpoena to Apple in February 2018, and including a gag order, seeking metadata on more than 100 accounts as part of an investigation into disclosure of classified information, according to a person familiar with matter. The gag order was renewed three times before it expired this year and Apple notified the customers. The House committee determined that along with members of committee and staff, the dragnet collected the records of family members, including at least one minor. Now we know this is a big deal because you’re not allowed to use the DOJ as your personal lawyer…Trump was clearly using abusing his power and had his department purposefully investigate political opponents such as Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwall (both Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee) Due in and Schumer are now calling on Sessions and Barr (both whom served as AG under Trump) to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee saying that if they don’t they are subject to subpoena…House Judiciary Democrats have criticized Garland’s Justice Department. House Intel Dems contend they’ve been unsuccessful trying to get information from DOJ about full extent of probe….Unsuccessful with DOJ, Democrats on House Intelligence plan to ask Apple to look into whether additional members were targeted by Trump Justice Department, according to a source familiar with the matter. Now due to the 50-50 split senate…At least one Republican would have to join Democrats on the Judiciary Committee (which is evenly split between the parties) for a subpoena to be approved. Dems don’t have unilateral power here. The Senate power sharing deal stipulated that legislation or nominations that end up in a tie vote in committee can advance. Deal did not cover subpoenas nor resolutions…..THEREFORE… If the vote deadlocks in committee, there is not a mechanism for Schumer to discharge the subpoenas from the committee and force a floor vote. Only the House Dems can issue subpoenas without GOP support…which is why the statement by Chuck Grassley is so important..they need a Republican is they want to issue a subpoena… In fun news…..this tweet is making the rounds today….
  5. SO MANY UPDATES.......... 1) 2022 Senate Races Val Demings officially announced her running for the open 2022 Florida Senate seat against Marco Rubio 2) Infrastructure Week Rolls On....... Infrastructure talks between Capito and the White House officially has ended and Biden and the WH's focus has shifted to the a group of 10 senators from the Bipartisan G20 including; Joe Manchin (D-WV), Krysten Cinema (D-AZ), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Mark Warner (D-VA), Jon Tester (D - MT), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Susan Collins (R-ME), Rob Portman (R-OH), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Bill Cassidy (R-LA)......Romney and Portman were clear that they would not raise taxes to pay for infrastructure..a key democratic demand. That Gang of 10 released (kind of? lol) outlines for a plan before the Senate left Thursday Night...... The White House says Biden was briefed by senators on bipartisan infrastructure proposal and appreciates their work but “Questions need to be addressed, particularly around the details of both policy and pay fors, among other matters.” Bernie Sanders says that the Budget Committee may move next month to take up a non-binding budget resolution to set the stage for moving both Biden's $2.3 trillion American Jobs Plan and $1.8 trillion American Families Plan via reconciliation process... Dems were briefed on bipartisan infrastructure talks at their lunch today. There was pushback from some members about going too small. “You shouldn’t assume that a bipartisan package has 50 Democratic votes,” said one source....Democrats such as Brian Schatz, Martin Heinrich, Jeff Merkely, Ed Markey, Michael Bennet have ALL WARNED that a light climate related bill WOULD NOT BE OKAY.... 3) Police Reform Though it had been reported that Police reform negotiators had made significant progress on qualified immunity, three sources had told. NBC News. The negotiators hoped to have draft legislation within the next two weeks. But it seems that new challenged has arrived.....keep your eyes on this over the course of the month, cause if something isn't done by June this will fizzle out. Details.....The changes to Sec. 242 in the draft legislative text are that it adds four crimes for which police could be held accountable: - obstruction of justice - theft - excessive use of force - sexual misconduct So it doesn't lower the bar for police culpability but adds offenses..... 4) Background Checks/Gun Laws Talks between Chris Murphy (D-CT) and John Cornyn (R-TX) have ceased.... 5) G7 News The Biden administration is buying 500 million doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine to donate to the world and other G7 leaders plan to rally around Biden’s proposal for a Global 15% minimum tax.. I probably missed something but this is all I can think of.....have a good weekend y'all

  11. So you’re a believer that abolishing the filibuster will FORCE bipartisanship because it would allow the other party to ram through bills on a party line vote? Is that what you’re saying? Cause while I agree with you that’s exactly the opposite of what people like Joe Manchin thinks..he thinks it won’t force bipartisanship, it will be the end of it. As someone who favors bipartisanship aren’t you a little bit nervous that it would have the exact opposite effect of what you desire, that it would be the end of reaching across the aisle?
  12. So is there a SINGLE SOUL here who actually stills think “Bipartisanship” is a thing? @Nightwing how do we get 10 GOP senators for literally anything if they fillibuster equal pay for women and a 1/6 Commission? I feel Iike since you preach it a lot maybe you have ideas? At some point these senators preaching bipartisanship need to show that it actually works or they need to move aside and let things actually get done for the American people. Pleasing the American people is far more important than pleasing 10 GOP senators and no one will ever change my mind, I could give literally zero shits about what people like Capito and Thune think/want honestly, they’re bad faith actors who don’t actually care what their constituents want ALSO….. Stay tuned I guess
  13. Sorry these aren’t yesterday’s number these are the 7th of June’s #s…running a little late

  15. U.S. Innovation & Competition Act: 68-32, Senate passed a 250B$ China competitiveness Bill, had a lot of overlap with elements of Biden’s “American Jobs Plan” !!!! Paycheck Fairness Act: Gillibrand missed the vote (she supports it) but every single GOP Senator votes AGINST EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN pathetic….. Infrastructure Update: Biden has moved on from GOP negotiations, focused has moved to the G20 group of Bipartisan senators… per Manu Raju of CNN: “Biden spoke with Sinema, Cassidy, and Manchin today, WH says. But also: “The President also spoke with Senate Majority Leader Schumer to discuss the need to commence work on the budget resolution process” for Senate floor action next month. Translation: Reconcilation.” FYI: The senators involved in the new bipartisan infrastructure group are Romney, Manchin, Portman, Warner, Tester, Shaheen, Collins, Murkowski, Sinema, Cassidy (5 Dem and 5 GOP Senators)

  17. What a f-ing joke...So let me get this straight: Sen. Manchin claims to want to protect voting rights, but wants to empower Senate Republicans who are hellbent on restricting voting rights? AHH YES...what’s that lovely concept that he thinks exists? Bipartisanship...? also..update on NC 2022 Senate Race...Rep Ted Budd gets Trumps endorsement, Lara Trump NOT RUNNING.

  19. Don’t put that energy out there...they might actually do it P.S. participate in the poll if you so choose
  20. Wow raised their whole offer by 50B$....... So far Biden has moved from 2.2T in new spending down to 1T (asking for)...and the GOP has moved from like 250B to 300B in new spending....yay bipartisanship..this is totally healing the country just like intended..right? @NotDoctor
  21. BREAKING NEWS: SLAY JEN PSAKI BLAST BAD ROMANCE edit: in honor of ongoing discussion please see the new poll :) answer accordingly!!!! Happy weekend yall!
  22. If we had another party that actually wanted to negotiate than I would agree but we don’t...people from Toomey, Cornyn, Thune, Barasso, Blunt have thrown cold water on the negotiations several times. They said that 800B would probably be too much for their party....there’s no way in hell they are voting for a 1T+ package that would be a “win” for Biden...that would never happen. If that’s what they wanted they would’ve done it when they had control for the last 4 years. like @NotDoctor said, I still don’t see proof of 10 people who would vote for it....Capito having “discussions” mean absolutely nothing...remember when McCarthy gave one of his members the duty of getting the 1/6 commission, they didn’t vote for it anyway. Even after his member got everything he asked for. They DONT WANT TO ACTUALLY NEGOTIATE. They handcuff their own negotiators.... Capito has CLEARLY been instructed by McConnell to keep talks going on and on as long as possible to delay and water down..just like the ACA. You can scream Bipartisanship all you want bruh but it’s not gonna happen. And yes, in that way you sound like Manchin. Thisnwhole “Bipartisanship will Heal the country” talk is so incredibly naive. You really think the people who attacked the capitol and want to strip voting rights give one sh!t if there’s bipartisan infrastructure talk? Is that suddenly gonna make people think Joe Biden is the legitimate president? Please tell me what BIPARTISANSHIP will accomplish with the GOP, what will the consequences be of passing bipartisan legislation other than watered down bills that don’t help enough people?
