I think we need to remember here that victims often “forgive” an abuser as a form of closure for themselves, that’s literally what Kesha’s “Praying” was about, literally with lyrics talking about how she’s prays that one day Luke can find peace and how she can now breathe given her resilience about what happened. Which is a beautiful thing. I’m not at all taking away from those women and their choices. I absolutely commend them because they’re braver and stronger than I could EVER BE. I don’t think it means that we and everyone else needs to forgive the man and allow him to be successful and make a sh!t ton of money…just my two cents. This is what happens when every voter (at least that’s how it is in the acting branch) is allowed ONE VOTE for nominations..if you think someone is safe for a nomination then you’ll give your ONE VOTE to someone who might need it like Stewart or Cruz who had missed out on BIG precursor nominations. We can all we want but this is why people like Amy Adams, Gaga and Balfe get snubbed. The academy needs to just do a tiered 5 ranking for nominations and there wouldn’t be so many weird snubs… Like how the f- did Denis not get nominated for best director….
