This! Gaga is known for her amazing voice and already sang the national anthem and she got universal acclaim for that performance. Also Gaga is a pop star cares about politics, raise her voice for serious issues (gay rights, black lives matter movement and much more). So isn't just a random pop star. They can seethe. Probably they are Trump supporters and they are very pressed right now. 

Also Gaga always talks about kindness and unity. So if one person should be there at this time and sing the national anthem, it should be no other than Lady Gaga.

I remember back when i started stanning her around 2011 her videos would always get like 20-25% dislikes and now her videos get like 5%. Everyone seems to love it now when she does and wears weird stuff instead of freaking out and calling her an attention seeker like the early days
