Hi ALL,   Just a reminder that the purpose of this thread is to discuss chart activities, trends etc. ALL opinions are welcome as long as their not dragging the artists or your fellow Popsters. It's not unreasonable to ask that we respect each other. If you don't agree with someone's opinion please report their content and if need be, block them to avoid further conflict ( WE CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH). It's not fair that we have to inconvenience everyone by closing the thread  because

I wish people had given Melodrama the same energy they are giving to this Melodrama influenced track :overit: But that's on the GP for always being behind - happy for Olivia's success.

I mean Lorde's rise with Royals is similar to Olivia's success so let's see if their career trajectories will follow similar paths.

As much as I was never a fan of her, Lorde got big because of her music exclusively, she was never on a TV show afaik. So I don't think that comparison works.

I mean this is a fair point, but I mainly meant how they both were 17 year olds when their lead single broke through into the mainstream and they both were cowriters on it and how their songs were not that similar to anything on pop radio at that moment. Also Olivia does have a built-in fanbase, but these streams are not purely from them as we see in the growth it has gone through (from 2m -> 15m)
