I really don't knwow why big artists keep sabotaging themselves with tragic lead single choices with way better songs on their albums

ME!, Yummy, SL, Positions, Heartless, even Cardigan...

At least all those albums had a bigger 2nd single (bar Positions and Folklore that only pushed one single) but could've had multiple big singles instead of one second hit single carrying the album while the lead rots

agree tbh tho I love Cardigan, I feel like a song like the 1 or August would have done better in summer

Yeah Dua had 2 other UK hits with Physical and BMH and that did decently elsewhere thanks to payola, Mustin used massive payola to get a hit with Intentions and the rest are just failed payola messes with 0 longevity

SWU was released 5 months ago and the song was still in the top 100 on Spotify Global before the release of Positions. SWU is way more successful than Stupid Love lmao
