Kinda Spoilers but not really;

Todd has guts. Fans loved the spectacle, WB loved the spectacle and he said no. He said if you all want to get another chapter here you go, what happened in the first movie was tragic and awful and you all just cared about the spectacle. Harley is what fans are in real life. And you know what happened with her. Just mirrors reality.

As much as I don't disagree that's what the movie was trying to convey...

Spoiler

it doesn't excuse that many of the musical numbers halted the pacing instead of moving scenes along, and that certain sequences felt rushed and choppily edited together while others dragged out. Add in that Lee was so poorly written that none of her decisions seem to have any context outside of being a sycophant which isn't enough to establish a real character from. If you want to make the point that only caring for Joker means you too reject Arthur and what he's suffering from, you need to make it in a way that brings the audience with you. There could have been another poignant movie in here, but it's bogged down by too many attempts to do too many things and not executing any one very well.

Not really spoilers but just being careful.

Musical scenes didnt halt anything for me. When it was Arthur’s number we just saw what he was thinking and when Lee sang it made sense to me. I got Lee’s character too. Didn’t feel shallow to me. Some parts could have been stronger but it conveyed its message beautifully to me. This movie is called Joker not Lee and Joker so her parts were more than enough for me.

This movie is an 8/10 for me. Also pacing was okay for me didnt drag at all

I actually see a lot of people defend JFAD saying it’s not that bad:whatga: Many comments say they will give it a try because enough people have said it is worth watching.

Bad publicity might for once work for this film in an unpredictable manner

A lot of people I know that went to see FAD actually liked it, I really think the main issue is that its completely different than the first movie.

But yeah I think the huge publicity the movie got whether its good or bad is making people go watch it and judge it for themselves.

Spoiler

I think Todd deliberately making Lee’s presence a lot weaker because he didn’t want to mislead the audience. He wants the audience to know that the film is all about Arthur’s mental struggles and if Gaga gets more scenes she will make the movie too entertaining.

Imo he intentionally make this film hard to watch so people will stop idolizing Joker as some kind of hero figure

Indeed. However, I think that due to her current state of mind and her being so involved within her own art that it wouldnt surprise me if she decided to play it risky and release the least maistream out of all these 4 aka ABRACADABRA :flutter:
