I don’t see Gomez getting an Oscar nomination, esp if in the same category another woman gets nominated from the same film.

Zoe Saldana is the frontrunner but she’s category frauding, in fact she is lead even more than the trans actress (that is currently on lead) and they say she’s the best in the movie.

For the rest you’re right, the category is quite open.

Im forgetting some name here like felicity jones for the brutalist aka a confirmed bp contender

saoirse ronan for blitz another bp contender

i dont think ronan will get in the leading category for the outrun

Believe it or not gaga has better chance in lead than supporting bc leading girls predicted so far most of them are out of bp conversation like Maria, the outrun, emilia perez (i dont think it will make it) etc

Aside from Zaldana, none of them are undeniable locks.

I won't be that quick on conclusion bc length doesn't always matter if joker is executing harleys plan n she is not even on screen yet we feel her presence the job is done 

The reviews on performance are extremely positive so far as well 

Last year the academy didn't love killers that much but Lilly got in for an obvious supporting role

50 mins screentime is better play in supporting with only one other lock present, since there are enough scenes to make it more alluring to voters than in Lead, when in lead you have names like Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman that will probably campaign hard.

Indeed, but even with a big box office she has no chances in lead, this is the same Academy that snubbed her for HOG and last year Robbie with a best picture contender acclaimed and huge box office. They won’t give her a lead acting nod with a blatant support role and those reviews, y’all need to accept it.

Gomez is going to campaign like crazy to secure the nomination.
