He’s matched by Lady Gaga, whose interpretation of Harley Quinn runs counter to pretty much every other portrayal. Phillips and Silver’s screenplay uses the basic idea of a Joker groupie as their starting point and pretty much ignores all the rest, creating a new character who fits their world and probably none of the others. Lady Gaga matches his freak as a new version of Harleen "Lee" Quinzel. A much more mature and restrained story about identity than most would expect. Impressive technical elements, including cinematography, production design, costumes, makeup and hairstyling, and score. THE BAD - The musical numbers become overindulgent and not always necessary. Die-hard fans of the first film may have some reservations about this story.
