Heey guys! Here is a message from the Mods team. Like everybody knows, 4th of October is the premiere of JFAD.  Popa911 wants to be a forum for everybody. For people who want to know everything even before they went to the cinema, and for the people that prefer to keep surprises. Thats why we have decided the following: Reviews without spoilers are welcome in this thread. Reviews that do have spoilers, they will be allowed in the Official JFAD thread only. So that thread acts like on

Please read this regarding the movie and sharing reviews. Thanks!

I don't see HM smashing, it's not catchy like ARUTW/DWAS 

It's vocally insane tho

 

but again in 2018 I said Shallow would be a cute flop with the background voices :katy:

Ok finally listened to the album. Here are my quick thoughts :creepin:

Album itself:

Gaga really is a marketing genius because she committed to the whole Harley aesthetic just for it to be her 3rd Jazz record :laughga:

If you didnt like C2C and LFS, you wont like this. That said, the production and VOCALS on the songs are awesome. I was hyped to listen to Happy Mistakes since yall hyped it up and... its ok? But clearly not reaching ASIB ballads quality. The Joker and Close to You were my favorites by far. And the orignal song Folie a Deux is cute! Really liked it.

Chart-wise:

This will tank hard. Like hard. But its ok since its a side project. I am counting on the original songs to literally carry this album. The jazz covers will be pulling 30k combined streams in a month from now (hope Im wrong though)

Award-wise:

The original song Folie a Deux should be submitted for Original Song this award season. Competition is usually really weak for that category, so maybe it could snatch some noms/wins? The thing that worries me is that NO ONE mentions it after seeing the movie. They better push it because it might be Gaga s best chance at getting another Oscar

The album could have potential for a Traditional Pop Vocal Album Grammy nomination. But sadly it will be forgotten by the time of 2026 Grammys. And even if it is nominated, I dont think its the kind of record the jazz voters would award. But who knows.

Haven’t listened yet (8 hours to go :bebe:), but the song Good Morning is pinging my memory and so when I figure out where it’s from, it’s gonna be a fave fr. I swear, every least favorite song from her albums end up being my favorites (Just Another Day and Plastic Doll for example). 

also, if I see anymore Tony slander, I’m gonna have to stop being nice :gunga:

She definitely got a new team bc they are pulling out all the stops. It’s so smart to use the film’s promotional spots to promote Harlequin, and they can save some money for LG7. I’ll give them their props for this one :applause:

The song is cute. Would be nice promo for both the movie and Harlequin
