I still don't get where this whole "Katy hyped anticipated comeback!!!" thing came from 

Did they really base it on some songs going "viral" and seeing an increase in streams? Katy was never hyped for her releases the way Gaga, Taylor, Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna for R9 etc. are, maybe just before Roar but because she was coming off Teenage Dream which was a mammoth era

Unless they have live data, that makes zero sense. The streams are not accumulated uniformly.

Spotify itself does not use half-day methodology for the official records either.

Yeah the ~90M listeners Gaga will have during LG7's lead doesn't guarantee a smash. It will just debut with bigger numbers than it would have if she had the ~56M-58M she had prior to DWAS. We'll never know the "worse" number LG7 lead would have gotten had she not released DWAS.
