This is too extreme, her acting nominations will still remain impressive for 3 movies even if she doesn’t get nothing for JFAD.

That being said it’s better a supporting nomination than being snubbed.

funny. the acting career of a singer-turn-actress who literally carried 600m boxoffice, hit all precursors TWICE and even happened to win a critics choice, an NBR and a NYFCC with her first two movies - will be over due to a comic book movie sequel that got DIVISIVE reception which every press has agreed that it's totally not her fault I guess then the career of 99.99% fulltime actors in the industry has never existed.

 

Just because she achieved all those things so effortlessly doesn't mean they're easy amd guaranteed. If anything, HOG and JFAD only make her more valuable because now the industry knows she could always be trusted to save a movie.

I can't imagine how this fanbase would be acting if instead of being #20 on Radio Songs in its 3rd week, DWAS never entered the Radio Songs chart (which has 50 positions) like I Remember Everything which went #1, spent 20+ weeks in the Top 10 of the Hot 100, spent 52 weeks on the Hot 100, and never managed to get more than 10M AI.

Actually I can imagine. They'd be acting the exact same way they are now.

Imo she won’t, she’s not really in the position, even the positive reviews about her like the one I posted earlier pointed out she does her best despite the role being small, that’s not really a narrative that can be used and work for going lead, that’s perfectly the point of supporting nominations.

Obviously, the problem is that she is not a full-time actress. Her next Oscar opportunity will probably be in the late 2020s or even later.  The vast majority of BA Oscar winners were younger than 40 unless we are referring to some well-established actresses with the overdue narrative. Her haters keep pointing out how she got her only acting nomination for "playing herself" in ASIB, and how it was a fluke.
