Oh absolutely! But that was a tour that was promoting an album rereleased years prior. I was never shocked that the tour didn’t move the needle given how overdue it was.

Whereas these people are showing up for a girl who released her album this weekend, hopefully these same people are streaming and buying if they’re going to a “last minute” announced show.

I don't think there is a specific marketing skill behind this result, Madonna is simply the biggest female popstar of all time and her doing a free concert in Brazil was alone a huge deal, a country where even Melanie Martinez or Marina and the Diamonds can attire a large audience, so it's not really surprising that Madonna has attired all those people but definitely still impressive and deserved.

I hope Gaga will do a concert in Brazil as well, the country absolutely deserved it for how much Brazil fans have supported her during the years, despite in the Gaga base now you can't even suggest a location to perform just because another artist did a concert there

She needs to perform in Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, Italy and Switzerland. These countries have always supported her.
