Shallow had a bigger year in 2023 compared to 2022 on youtube.

My two cents about radio & Gaga:

There was an article about Interscope being the only label not being associated with Payola and given the fact that radio was actually supportive of her recent singles until the callout scores were released Interscope is known for pulling the plug right away when the callout scores are not good.

Dua's Levitating also got horrible callout scores initially but her label were giving the single chances to improve over time. 

The things with Gaga is many of her singles need time to get appreciated by the GP. Shallow and MR needed the Oscars and the Superbowl for the re-service and radio push. 

Plus this is not only a problem involving Gaga as Interscope also botched the album rollout including radio run for the singles for the sophomore albums of Billie and Olivia. 

Billie and olivia both sophomore albums were not radio carried yet they proved that they are more than just a radio darling

Gaga also did that with a star is born but there are also some gaga eras who couldn't stand without radio 

She is not that artist (anymore) on which label can invest with closed eyes bc she is unpredictable 

Chromatica was prolly the first era since born this way which got most investment by her label but it was frontloaded

Irdk if lg-7 will get the similar investment

Yes definitely with still no lead single out,  the album is not coming until late May at the earliest

I think if lg-7 wants to have a good debut on billboard 200 i fear gaga also have to sell multiple variants of the album 

1)bc tour bundles are out which contributed to a lot of chromatica debut 

1) pure sales are dead and in gutter 

3) chromatica streaming unit was just 70k which is not good 

so multiple variants are the only way she is getting a 200k+ debut

Unless there is a change in Gaga's team, it is pretty much clear that they are out of touch when its come to charts and their rules.

I except proper roll-out with lead single i.e radio deal, playlisting, music video and discount. After that it would be unconventional, frustrating and pointless promo tactics.

Different versions might give her 50k-60k extra units in US 

80k (streaming) + 60k (variants) + 25k (vinyl) + 25k (other pure sales) = 190k debut

Thats the best case i fear 

 

Of Love for sale variants can give her extra 20k then lg-7 should give 60k extra i think

Ariana has sold 33k pure from variants so far from 100k availability

Streaming debut of pos was 132k 

I dont think ES is outdebuting pos in streaming

130k+ 40k (regular) + 80k (variants) = 250k debut for ariana

I hope we only get two covers. Albums getting 4 or more lately is cringy as hell imo but I also was kinda disappointed Joanne had exactlt the same cover for both standard and deluxe versions of the cd

A lot:

There were 4/5 different cassetes alternating between two covers

A lot of different colours for the vinyl + picture disc on release day (and the trifold variant later on)
