Ok well then that means I'm off-key, which I already knew. I know that the timbre of my singing voice (quality distinct from pitch) is not bad at all. It can be good if I'm singing baritone alone without nerves. I always get nervous to a degree when I record myself

The instructor said at the end of the semester that I had improved in pitch-matching, but not enough to join the choir. Not once did he say my voice itself was horrible, or he would have made me drop the course as he said he'd done with others
