Unless there is an attempt or intention to make them important, they aren't the focus, the production and to a lesser extent, vocals are. Unfortunately, there are moments on Chromatica where Gaga does try to show good lyricism, and fails. I don't enjoy it being true like an OGH, but when I read the more serious-ish lyrics on songs like Sine from Above or 1000 Doves, they're just bad. Gaga’s work with BP feels a lil back to front. her ballad had the most generic lyrics ever and no melody but very strong production, and then with chroma where production should’ve been the focus - it’s the lyrics and thematis that shine.
