  • little legend changed the title to Charts Discussion: Chromatica's journey continues, but did it ever begin?

US radio supported Shallow as much as they could. It got a second wind on Pop radio, #19 peak in May is great considering the song was released 8 months prior to that. You have to put things in context and not just look at the peak and say "Pop radio didnt support it!!"

Before Oscars, radio barely touched it.

Of course they didn't support it. Shallow was a massive hit and was loved by everyone. It should had at least 150m audience based on how huge it was , while in the end it only had like 70m audience. If Oscars didn't happen,it wouldn't had even reached 40m audience.

Shallow peaked at 90M radio airplay and went #10 peak on overall radio.

But the surprising thing it might be the only song that sold x10 platinum in the US without a Pop radio Top10 peak.

Which is crazy impressive.

We’re back to #11 on Pop well at least she went to Top10 :applause:

Maybe somehow she goes back to Top10 if they dont drop her soon. But Bloody Mary in its 17th week on Pop charts right now. It will go recurrent if it wont rise back to inside Top10 in the next 3 weeks.

It peaked at 92m audience, not 70m.

It was serviced to radio, they were playing it, wasn't a hit on Pop radio so they dropped it. The Oscars gave it such a big sales and streaming revival so radio had no choice but to spin it again. Do you realise that doesn't happen a lot of times? Its a miracle it managed to climb all the way up to #19 after being dropped. It simply didnt make any sense to keep spinning it in June or July when some of those stations started spinning it in October of the year prior :rip: This was a very rate ocassion when radio changed their mind. In the end it was a big radio hit, peak doesn't mean much in Shallow's case.

If you were here, tracking it daily you would know what I'm talking about.

Of course I was here tracking it daily. I dont disagree with the fact that it was rare to give it second wind after it almost got dropped. But still only peaking at #19 is low based on how huge Shallow was
