COVID ruined a lot of promo plans they had. It's clear that SL was always meant to be a promo single because she was originally going to announce ROM in early April, so her team never planned to have SL carry the era from late Feb to late May. SL did better than it should have when you think about how they pulled away from it and paused the era within just mere weeks as COVID ravaged everything. Bobby's original plan was, in a lot of ways, similar to what Selena did when she released Lose You To Love Me and Look At Her Now.
