I don't think Shakira's song is going to do anything in the U.S., so no comeback for her. You cannot pull off a comeback without the biggest market in the world.

What is this Swiftie logic

The U.S. is the biggest market by revenue. The song might be smashing in countries without official charts on YouTube, but she's not getting those coins.

What a xenophobic take. Revenue they make from streams is low whether they are from US or developing countries.

All that matters is millions of people are listening to them, in this particular case at least a million more are listening to Shakira song than Miley

I was referring to Apple Music (where Miley is way ahead of Shakira right now). Apple Music, which is much more popular in the U.S. than Spotify, pays much more money per stream.

Again artists mostly make money from ads, brands, touring in streaming era. Whether its Spotify or Apple Music, streams are just there to provide exposure. In this case Shakira is outdoing Miley by large margin

Shakira: 27Million streams from youtube and spotify

Miley: 18 Million streams from youtube and spotify

Apple Music is not big enough to make up for this difference.

A reminder that US isn't the center of the world

If song A is bigger WW than song B , it doesn't matter if song B is bigger just in the US, song A is still the biggest song

Are you actually comparing Apple Music and YouTube streams?:laughga:

No I am simply pointing out more people are listening to Shakira, hence her comeback is bigger than Miley. The point that flew over your head.

You do realize that YouTube streams can be fake, right? You actually have to pay for an Apple Music subscription.

But the difference of over 5M is more than what can all be attributed as fake streams

they are not though the song is literally #1 on spotify and breaking records, doing all that while being fully in spanish at that

how many songs fully in spanish do you know that topped the american charts? right...

if anything shakiras numbers are way more impressive, mind you she debuted in the 80s :lesson:

#1 US YouTube

#5 US Spotify

#19 US Apple Music

Spotify has a free tier, which makes it less reliable when it comes to gauging consumption. Moreover, it is smashing only in Spanish-speaking markets. #60 in the UK.

Yeah these millionaire women are really worried if people are streaming their music using free or subscribed account

They don't care, but Billboard gives more weight to paid streams compared to free streams. Not my rules:romance:

But we are not talking about Billboard, we are talking about Global comeback
