Tbh I don’t think having  so many performances 6 years ago doesn’t mean something will have longevity on streaming, it helps its initial run. MR aged into a classic for her, and it peaked at 35-40m playlisting and it wasn’t being played on radio iirc.
Gaga was inescapable coming home from school in 2009, she sells as a talented package. Not so much chart obsession, it’s her brand.

Re ARTPOP: it sounded like her best album after seeing that iTunes festival in 2013, she brings the music to life. This is why she went over to Hollywood so well imo .(maybe also think that’s why she’s struggled with streaming era methods of promotion, it’s  faceless)

Now let’s not rewrite history…the only reason Godga was pushing MR down peoples throat with million of performances is because she was basically sabotaged by radio refusing to play the song and streaming platforms refusing to playlist it.

Godga practically had no other option but push the song with live performances hoping that the GP would embrace it…which thankfully happened.

BASICALLY, we don't agree on much but this is spot on

Joanne was a way for her to get back at GP after the whole tragedy that was the ARTPOP era so yeah she fought for that song cause she believed in it... there's a reason why people skip it less on Spotify playlists than her last #1 record with Ariana...

that was never the questions, some just acted like Gaga never cared about charts... she absolutely did... not to the point where she'd be good girl let me be sexy in my videos and call it a day.. Gaga is an artist
