I wrote these thread titles for you in case any of these events occur:

"Hold My Hand not #1 despite massive movie, why?"

"Hold My Hand only #1 because of movie, why?"
"Gaga can't chart without movies and collabs, why?"

if the song hits it'll be funny because of the timeline:

Shallow smashes

ogh's: *but soundtrack songs smash!!*

every mpg soundtrack single proceeds to bomb the following years

Gaga comes back with a soundtrack song and it's a hit again

#1 on ITunes in 2022 and the word « smashing » in the same sentence

Amazing standards again from the « #53 on UK, #65 in Australia, #69 in Canada and #75 in Germany on their respective YEC charts say that » stans

Since she produced, could she be nominated for score as well?

No, the score is the music (instrumental) used throughout a movie. Producers also don’t even get nominated for Best Original Song.

Sounds like a song that will end up with lukewarm success. Most tweets just said it’s divine and fitting. Not much mention of its catchiness and being memorable.

I feel like the shallow scene was the most talked about part where people said it was the film at its best because after that the second half of the movie didn’t match the first half’s energy. The song didn’t sound like a number 1 smash song to me tho

Did the first screening or the trailer come first? I can’t remember anymore.

Are you basing it on the tweets shared here? Lots of them mention it's a bop/banger/hit which for me is pretty interchangeable with being catchy or memorable. Other than that ballads don't tend to be as catchy as pop songs, people listen to them again precisely because they sound beautiful/divine etc.

The trailer iirc, people predicted it to be a hit mainly because of Gaga's aAAAAAAHHH which sounded phenomenal
