overall streams for the album were pretty amazing during the debut, even without the collabs 

longevity was the issue of course, ASIB on the other hand had a pretty lukewarm debut and ended up a streaming smash

There’s two good examples there:

Chromatica 48m debut —->1.9bn

ASIB 11m ——> 4bn

she has a solid debut, then a bad debut and amazing final number (obvs not final but you know)

I think we have to consider that their fans were gracious enough to give the entire album a stream as well though seeing their idols praise each other? Anyway let’s see how gaga fares without any powerful collabs on her next dance-pop album to make a farer judgement :enigma:

Chromatica had 1 live performance and Gaga almost skipped the era after the release of ROM :dead:

But again ASIB can’t be really treated as a LG album, this soundtrack had something that her solo albums did not have - a neverending promotion in the form of a highly successful acclaimed movie.

The movie was in theaters for months. Then the DVD came out. Then the streaming release.

All the awards season since January till end of March in 2019 and that Oscar performance :shine:

:rip: wait that’s somewhat true familia was such a bomb. But gaga probably has a larger fan base + this was gaga’s return to dance pop in a long time so there was hype and built up to the album I guess. Anyway point is nobody except for fans are streaming Chromatica now so getting a solid debut means nothing tbh

Solid debut shows there is demand for the artist, Gaga can easily book TTH, Award show performance etc compared to someone like Kesha/Katy because most curators and producers know they won't pop up ratings and having their song on playlists is waste of space. 

Also most big artist will be willing to work with Gaga because of that existing demand.
