Katy Perry: Play has seen a total attendance of 32,000 Katy-cats, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore.

Katy Perry has landed in Las Vegas, and so have her fans. The global pop superstar’s first Vegas residency, Katy Perry: Play, launched its first set of shows on Dec. 29, playing eight performances through Jan. 15. According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, the shows earned nearly $7 million with a total attendance of 32,000 Katy-cats.

Play sees Perry joining Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan with residencies at the newly opened Resorts World Las Vegas. Celine Dion was slated to open a Resorts World Theatre residency last November, though it has been delayed. The “Waking Up in Vegas” singer’s $6.98 million bow breaks down to an average $873,000 and 3,991 tickets per show.
Las Vegas is famously home for many pop stars who set up shop with years-long theater residencies, ranging from Dion and Elton John in the 2000s to Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez in the 2010s, and now to Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Perry in the 2020s.

Before settling in at Resorts World Las Vegas, Perry played the MGM Grand Garden as part of 2014’s Prismatic World Tour and T-Mobile Arena during 2017’s Witness: The Tour. Those shows grossed $1.7 million and $1.2 million, respectively. While those one-night arena hauls eclipse the sub-million-dollar pace of Perry’s residency, their five-digit capacity is more than double that of Resorts World Theatre, allowing her to play a run of eight shows at a time in one city.

With one blockbuster leg of shows under her belt, Perry has announced 16 more shows this summer, in addition to eight dates in March. Katy Perry: Play is promoted by Concerts West/AEG Presents.

Dating back to December 2008, Perry has grossed $268.2 million and sold 3.2 million tickets across 306 reported shows.
