Unless we going for the one song they are known for... I don’t think these “picks are accurate” and I better not f-ing be in the bottom with 0 votes again when I actually picked 3 true one hit wonders...

ps. I’m hangry atm

Well if you see above people don’t even know what a one hit wonder is apparently

Not being funny I think you’re taking the term ONE hit wonder TOO seriously here. Colby O’Donnis had 2 other top 20 songs but we only remember him for Just Dance. THAT is a one hit wonder. Same goes for all these other artists you’re naming. This round is basically just common sense on which artists are only remembered by one song in my opinion, not who has strictly 1 no.1 or top 10

But it was announced that technicality is important this round

If a song is not technically a one-hit wonder to me, the submission will be denied!

The key words there are “to me” so if @PETTY deems them so...

Not him being considered a one-hit wonder for a song that’s not even his. :mess:

Welp, maybe I should of gone with my original 80's pick...:laughga:

I will say some of these I know flat out are NOT one hit wonders. One of them just had another big song like 3 years ago...

I'm still voting for the trio though because it's a great trio. :laughga:

Because I have seen the songs submitted on multiple One-Hit Wonder lists throughout the internet, I didn’t fight people on their submissions because they are clearly not the only ones who consider their songs one-hit wonders. Some were a reach but it wasn’t worth it for me to tell people to change them when I thought about it. If we don’t agree with it, we just don’t vote for it! Purrrr :oscar:

Yes, but then a lot of them would be no hit wonders or, like a-ha, actual hitmakers over several decades. We need a guideline.

It's all relative. a-Ha, for instance, have a song with 1.2B on YouTube and no other song over 100m. Clear one hit wonders. I'd hardly call them hitmakers :ohyes:

The example used by miss Petty, Natalie Imbruglia, has multiple other top 10s in multiple markets. Still a one hit wonder.

Miss Avatar Max has one top 10 in the US, and yet not a one hit wonder :ally:

She's not a One Hit Wonder because she has another top 20 song and therefore, just like a-ha, has two top 20 hits. Exactly how I worded it btw

Views on Youtube aren't exactly the most reliable metric either, as Like A Virgin by Madonna, an undeniable worldwide hit, doesn't have 100M views either :awkney:

Also, making 9 top 10 hits in the UK like a-ha and having them between 1984 and 2005 isn't being enough of a hitmaker for you?

Having a standout hit and being a One Hit Wonder are two different things. Meredith Brooks is a good example of a One Hit Wonder because she literally only had one WW hit and then nobody ever heard from her again.
