It's true that it sounds veery late 200s/early 2010s ish but I feel like we've departed far enough of that sound trend for it to be considered a throwback instead of dated. Case in point: Cardigan as the lead single of Folklore made no sense, Exile was the song with the most potential, I understand she didn't want to start the era with a collab but there where a lot of other choices (August for instance). And not pushing Exile has a single at all with the overwhelmingly positive reception it had made no sense, and then she randomly performed Betty at the CMA's too.
