Deliveroo's shares plunged more than 30% on debut. The company set its float price at the lowest end of a range initially set between £3.90 and £4.60. City investors were concerned about the pay and conditions faced by Deliveroo’s couriers. An estimated 70,000 retail investors are thought to have spent around £50m on Deliveroo shares.

First time posting here :creepin: since I’m not too big into stocks but as a new business student I’ll learning about non-traditional assets like NFTs and and wondering if anyone feels strongly for/against them? Seems like a bubble waiting to burst imo

@NYNJ Nights I literally just came in here to ask if @BenG or anyone had an opinion on NFTs :icant:

I don't really get it to be honest... but I said the same thing about Bitcoin 10 years ago so

I still don’t get bitcoin :laughga:

my favorite artist just did a NFT thing and they were going for tens of thousands of dollars, but you don’t actually get anything or own anything? It’s so weird lol

Is NFT like a certificate to prove ownership of a digital good? Or am I oversimplifying it? :dead:

I read someone compare it to art—some wealthy art investor could spend millions and buy the Mona Lisa but anyone can go see it in a museum or look up pictures of it or something. So technically there’s an “owner” but they don’t really get anything

this is my understanding which makes way more sense to me when you have a physical copy of an artwork... but like who cares if you have a digital reproduction that is an exact copy with no loss?

I saw someone arguing with one of the Winklevoss brothers about it on Twitter and they were like "I see now how someone stole a multi-billion dollar company right from under your nose" :icant:

plus doesn't blockchain have a huge carbon footprint?
